Many people confuse adolescence with puberty. Puberty is the initial phase of adolescence, characterized by physical and biological changes in the body of boys and girls. It is during puberty (between 10 and 13 years for girls and 0:14 for boys) that occurs the development of sexual organs. These are ready for reproduction.
During puberty, boys go through the following bodily changes and biological: appearance of pubic hair, testicles and penis growth, deepening of the voice, body growth, rise of the Adam's apple and first ejaculation.
Among girls, the most important changes are: the beginning of menstruation (the first is called menarche), development of the mammary glands, the appearance of hair in the pubic area and armpits and growth in the region of the basin.
